So as November close in againg to time to dust here.

This year I do have the bits of an idea. So I thought I would share them and give warning that the madness is starting again.

So welcome to the next adventure for any foolish enough to look at his madness of mine. This book is currently titled Cursed. Here are the notes I have for it.   This will grow as the month goes and more needs to be recorded. Few of the players are known yet, but it is more than I have had in the past, which worries me.

Description:
Does being able to change into an animal mean you are less than those that can’t? Does having that genetic trait limit your intelligence? Force you to be unable to care for yourself, to be unreliable, unfit for adult responsibilities? That is it a curse not just an odd ability that appears slightly less often than the ability to work magic?
Those are the questions that haunt Idrias. She is not sure how old she was the first time she changed, but she was under three years, that all agree on.  She was five when her third form appeared. That one truly outraged her father. He had already seen that she was kept out of sight, but that. It was bad enough that a child of his was cursed with the form of a wolf, but to have a winged form was a disaster. Little own for it to be the same child. It was shameful, and would surely see that the family was out of favor should it become known.
So she was kept out of sight until she had some control over the changes, and grew up believing that she had to hide. That it was unfit, that she was a disgrace. Yet as she grew she learned and started to wonder if there was a way she could do more than hide, if she couldn’t be something without being an embarrassment.

Characters:
Idrias A. Northmarch: The start of our story. She is a shapeshifter with two other forms and a powerful mage. She can adapt aspects of those other forms when in human form. That is improve her senses by activating those of one of the others.  Good at strategy and geography, a bit of healing. Bad at sewing, math and is not used to people.
Seth Northmarch: Idrias twin, not a shapeshifter but a bit of mage talent that he tends to ignore, not wanting it. He is more into books, loves history and math. Not a fighter at all hates all to do with battles.
Iron Northmarch, Governor: Their father, a master ranked mage that values power. If you are not a mage you cannot speak for the family, just carry messages and the non-vital work. He struggles with the fact that some females find life outside of being a mother as satisfying, but does let them in the army and stays silent in the council votes about property ownership by them, letting it pass.
Luke Silver c’Strongarm: Not a sifter or a mage, though his other half might be a mage, he is in an elite unit, a skilled spy.  Formerly Northmarch but left after one fight to many and changed his name. The c’ started with shifters to identify their clan, that is to say who they were bound to. It has since grown to be used by any subs to show their tie, even if not to a shifter. As is his case.
Walker Strongarm: Likely mage, but it is not sure. In love and control of Luke very protective of him.

Types of Shifters:
First know that shifters come in all forms and are found throughout the world, and are not limited to humans. In fact it is believed that there are some human sifters that were not human at birth, but that is not documented. Not all shifters are mages, but all are able to feel the energy used to cast spells, even if they can’t use it. Something that seldom happens with non-shifters, we as far as it can be known. It is hard to test wild animals.
Moon depended. The smallest in number, shift only when the moon if full and it causes them pain to shift. They seldom have any memory of the time and most spend it in a locked room out of fear of what they might do. This group is seeking a cure, and see it as an infection, which for most of them it could well be. Usually fist happens after trauma.  Few are mages. Their child will carry a munitions no matter what. They might not change, only about one out four given the known numbers will, but it is likely one of theirs (one out three in second gen, giving known numbers)  will but regardless Shifters can come from the line.
Pulled: They feel the moon and will have to change when it is full, for at least a bit of the night, but they retain the ability to think, to know who they are. They might have some mild pain at changing, but it is not as badly as it looks. They can change when the moon is not full, but it is more likely to be tied to emotions than choice and usually there is an hour or more needed before they can change again, most are longer and limited times between full moon. Like once every three days or so many times between the moons. They hit the limit and are trapped in that form until the full moon, so most likely they have spent some weeks in the animal from unable to change back and so might hate that it is there. Here it appear in the later teen years, and is hereditary. Most likely parent or grandparent was moon dependent, but it is hard to trace as so many do all they can to see that such remains hidden. A forth or there about tend to have some ability with magic. If both are pulled or pulled and dependant, the child will be pulled, if only one there is an even chance that child will have the ability, if it doesn’t then on down the line another could as it will carry and pass on the mutation.
Shifters: This is the largest group and has an identified genetic mutation, chances are somewhere in the line is both the other types of shifters, but it is often a few generations back. Any child has a fifty chance of being a shifter as do theirs if mixed couple, garnetted shifter if both parents are, but second from not known until it appears. Meaning it need not be the same as parents. No one knows yet what determines the forms. This group shifts with ease, there is no pain and it over fast. Now they might have to pause a bit, that is wait up to an hour between change, but that is it. the ability will show by the early teens, if five or younger then a third is likely to show up. A fourth sometimes will as well, and often they can meld the forms as they wish. Hence unknown animals that are spotted are first thought to be shifters combining forms. As with the pop at large half are mages. They may feel restless as the full moon nears but are not forced to change by it. As the other shapes are a part of them they do need to change and run in those forms at times, but that need is deepened on the moon.
