29056, they are at the hotle! day 15. (all most pub blank lol.)

The tree folk said. “Thank you light child. Your kindness is gratifying. So many of you have no manners. I am sure the little ones will enjoy the treats. Ah here are the ones to help.” Out of the tree line moved a troll, a satyr and a few dryads.
Sara said. “I thought that sunlight hurt troll’s eyes. That is the only one I have seen in daylight. And aren’t the dryads a bit small to be pulling on trees? I know they are stronger then the mist they look like they are, but still.”
The tree folk said. “That troll is able to change his eyes. More would have come, but not in the light. A dyads strength depends on its tree, those are old, and mighty. I am surprised.”
Sara said. “My people do what they can to limit interaction with yours to negations for what we must have. We are not taught about you, just polite ways to address you. Well we hope that our folks are polite, though some can be a bit argent in there dealings with your kin.”
He laughed. “You here have been better than most. Humans are still at a lost. So used to us sleeping, it is hard for them to see us as equal.”
Sara looked back at the trees, the kids had one moved and the toll and satyr was taken a second, the dryads had the third. It was fascinating to watch them. She did not notice the sprite at her feet until she felt a tug on her dress and looked down. Seeing it she got the felling she was to set her water bottle down. Sara frowned a bit, then set the bottle down, wondering what the sprite wanted. To her surprise the bottle vanished, only to reappear full. “You want to fill them?” She some how felt a confirmation, just as she had known it wanted the bottle. “Thank you little one.” Louder she called out. “Hay guys if you will set your bottles down, they will be refilled. And if you will get the far end of the last tree they will get the trunk, but that fourth one is so big they need extra hands.”
One of the boys said. “I was wondering how to handle that big thing. You heard her guys, come on.” Most of the water bottles were left when they head over to the last tree. Sure enough as they took the top end the others took the bottom and started moving the tree. Just as the road crew arrived.
There driver jumped out of the car and started wavering his arms. “What the delve are you kids doing? Trying to cost the road?”
Tim answered. “We asked before moving any. Think that if we started you would have less to do. The tree folk who answered us had all ready sent for some of his kin to move the tress, so with there aid, or our aid, which ever, the trees are cleared. Well as soon as this last is done. You all mind lend a hand? This one is unwieldy.” The driver stood there gaping at them, but others got out of the car and came to help.
One of them was coved in the light and seemed to wrapped a bit of it around the tree, after which they seemed to be moving it easier. The one who wore the light winked causing Sara to realize she had been staring at him and quickly looked away. She hadn’t mean to, but she was struck again with the fact that she could see spells. If she could see them, then could she cast them? And was magic really just moving the streams around? Of course you would have to take care or you could really make a mess. The streams had a lot to do with the form of the world, she knew that much.
Once the tree was moved the mage said. “So you kids asked to clear the road?”
Tim said. “Yes sir/ It is how we do it at home when we need something for the wild areas, and how we keep the settled areas open.”
“Where would that be? You heading to the testing?”
“Newton, sir. We are from High School ninety, and yes that is our destination. Glad we will be to get there, it has been a long day of travel.”
“I should have known by the clothes. You will find the roads from here to there clear, but they are rough for the next four miles, still you should make the city limits in about another thirty minuets.”
Tim smiled and bowed. “Thank you, sir. Our clothes do make us rand out a bit, but plane clothing keeps us from thinking on it when our minds should be on other things. Come on guys, the sooner we are the busses the soon we can find some supper and a bath.” They collected their water bottles and headed back to the busses. Sara slid back into her seat, by a frowning Rebecca, and took a sip of the water only to surprise at the taste. It was unlike any water she had tasted, clear, cool and yet fruity. She looked around at the others, but if they noticed anything odd about the water they didn’t show it.
Abiram saw her looking. “Say how did you know they would fill the bottles? Is something wrong with it? Tastes fine to me.”
Sara said. “No it is fine, I just was wondering if you let them fill yours. I wasn’t sure, but they offered. I, um, went a head and gave them a few pies. I think they wanted to thank us. I felt something tugging on my dress and well it wanted the water bottles. I didn’t think it would hurt anything. The tree folk seemed amused by it, not upset.”
Zac said. “What was that roll doing out in the sun? That is what I want to know.”
Sara said. “Um the tree folk said he is one that can change his eyes to take the sun, and there were others of his kind around who wished they could help. I think it might be them that moved the trees further into the forest. I know I shouldn’t have asked, but I was startled and it slipped out.”
Zac said. “I thought there was likely some that could do that. I wonder if they can change more than eyes.  Well that is not any concern of ours.” That last was said as Abiram turned and looked at him. “I know it isn’t long tell super, but any more pies?”
Abriam handed him a bag. “Pass it on back, and here is another one to go to the front. Thank goodness we got those extra hands on that last tree. It was slipping there for a bit.”
Sara took out some bags and passed them out on her side. She looked at Rebecca. “Are you going to tell me why you are upset this time or should I start guessing?”
Rebecca said. “What were you doing out there? Yes it was fitting to take them water, but to stay out there watching like.”
Sara said. “I was not watching the boys, but you are right. I should have considered what it looked like. I was being far too bold. I am sorry I embarrassed you.”
Rebecca looked at her. “Are you? I hope we are all most there. This is going to be a long week. I whish it over, as you should.”
Tim said. “We will be in the city in about fifteen minuets the crew said the roads were good from here.”
Rebecca blushed, “I am sorry. I didn’t mean to speak so loudly, sir. Thank you.”  She looked at her sewing, clearly meaning the conversation was over.
Sara watched the land as it went by, ignoring her own sewing as pointedly as Rebecca was working on hers. As the city came into view she blinked. The buildings were not all that higher then the ones back home, but there were a lot of them, and packed close together. She doubted if there was room for any kind of gardens. “We are coming into the city, you might want to look at it. I can not believe how close those buildings are. You would hear your neighbor sneeze.” Rebecca sniffed, but she did look up, and kept looking as they entered the city. The outer areas were mostly empty but as they got into town the streets got busier. “So many people and so much color. No offence, but the clothes out there make those I see on market days look plain. Have you ever seen such?”
The girl in front of her said. “I have some cousins around here someplace. So yes when they came to visit. They laughed when I asked what they were dressed up for, and told me they had worn there old things.”
Rebecca said. “It is down right shameful how they make a spectacle. But then I expected that. I just hope there will be descent food at the hotel. No bout the use the other in cooking, but that can’t be helped. Just as long as it is eatable, and not some made up stuff.” They came to a stop before a large building with seven floors and lots of windows. It was impressive to look at, showy and meant to get your eyes. Nothing the elders would ever have accepted.
“This is it everyone. You get out here then I will go park this thing. Don’t fool around about it, I’m already getting told to move.”
The kids got out and went into the lobby. Sara made sure she was away from the door before she stopped to stare. This was the biggest room she had seen, it could easily hold the meeting room of the church. It was carpeted in a bright blue, and there were sparking chandlers hanging from the high ceiling. What really got her though were all the spells on the place. There had been a lot of light weaved into things on the street, but that was nothing to what was in the building. No one seemed to notice, or care anyway.
Abiram said, causing her to jump. “Aren’t you glad we don’t have anything like this at home? Just think of the work it would be. It is pretty though, if a bit flashy. You doing all right? It must be hitting you by now, that you want be home tonight.”
Sara smiled at her brother. “It dose feel a bit strange. The last time I was away this long I really didn’t know it. I am not missing home to much yet. There is to much to distract me.”
Mr. Ritter said. “All right kids, there will be two per room. Pick your roommates. Boys with boys, girls with girls, of course.”
Abiram went over to Zac, and Sara head over to where the other girls were standing. Rebecca said. “Hannah and I are rooming together Lena, so either room with Sara or one of the Hammer girls. Only fitting you two be together. Dragging us out!”
Sara said. “I honestly doubt if she has any more idea than me why they picked to send us this year. I can assure you I was completely blindsided by it. I am sorry I have give you cause to think I would have asked for this. Lena, is it? I am sorry they are forcing you to room with me. If it helps I have a long list of things I am to by, so I will not be spending much time in the room.”
Lena ignored her and said. “You know her. I don’t. You should be with her and let me room with Hannah.”
Another of the girls said. “What makes you think I want to room with you? I will stay with Rebecca, as planed. You do what you want.”
Lena said. “Fine.” She turned and looked at Sara. “You just stay to your side and leave me alone. I have enough trouble as it is. If there was another option!”
Sara said. “I will do my best to be invisible when I am in the room, and make that as little as possible. I am sorry I trouble you so.”
Lena said. “I hope so. Last thing I need. Bad enough as it is.”
Mr. Riter came over just then with the keys. “Lucky this hotel uses regular keys, so there are no problems there. And I see you have paired up. The room numbers are on the keys, the first number indicates the floor the room is on. I thought you would want ones together, So I made sure all of you had rooms on the tired floor, as that was were the majority of the ones assigned to us are.” He stared handing out the keys. “Once you have your key you can head on up and drop off your bags. The dinning hall is right though those doors. The meals are coved. By your age they should know, but if they ask for billing information tell them your room number. There are maps of the hotel in each room and by the doors leading to the floors.”
