Why don't they realize she has a computer? It is silly. 3,859. so not to bad.

Yuma said. “I was going to, but then I remembered something I needed to check for a different paper and didn’t get to Government, but it is just a few of minor changes and a spell check so it won’t take long. I do hope that you can get the dance finalized before the meeting gets derailed. It likely won’t be much longer, so I will let you get back to it.” Her sister looked at her oddly, but she just went on into the kitchen, fighting not to laugh. It was fun to see her trying to work it out, but missing the obvious answer. She wanted some soda, but knew she needed water so she got a glass of it first then went to the frig and took out a bottle of cola, then went over and got a few cookies. It was looking like it would be a late night, and a few snacks never hurt. She had learned that it was as easy to get involved in chat rooms as it was in books. No wonder her sister was so grumpy when forced to leave them. They were a good way to make you forget the time. Odd the school one never did get her so involved, but theses was did, even when it wasn’t about the classes. She didn’t understand why they did, but there was something about them that made it hard to leave. Likely that was why her parents had them blocked on the family computer. She should see if they used any of the programs, and find out what one Tulip did, they would be a better way to keep in touch then the phone really.
Wane said. “That is some combination. So taking a break? How is the paper going? It must be hard to hand write it. I am sure that is not what they want, yet clearly you weren’t using the computer as there was nothing open when Tulip sat down there, twenty minutes ago. Did you finish it that fast?”
Yuma sighed a bit. Just why did he have to be so nosey? It wasn’t his place, but he always was. Just because she didn’t want the role he felt was right he was always trying to find her doing something wrong. I do wonder what he will say, but he did ask.“My papers are all typed, none of the teachers have accepted hand written papers since forth grade. It just needs a few minor changes and a last spell check. I would have it done, but I got distracted by a different one, and forgot what I was intending to do. I would still be lost in the research for it if my phone had of rang. I didn’t even know I had been working so long before then, seemed like I had just started. My sources were contradicting each other and I was trying to understand why it was so, and which to go with. I think though that I am going to end up sitting both, and take the view that more studies need to be done. It is amazing how many answer we don’t have. The evidence I have could easily support both views, yet they can’t both be true. Luckily that paper isn’t do for a week yet so I can see if there is anything newer. I will have to ask on the message broads latter as well. I haven’t looked at those before, and should. They are more help than I thought they would be. I wasn’t expecting much, but am glad that Joe talked me into joining the site, for all the chat rooms can be distracting at times. I had best get before Joe things I forgot I said I would sign in to the room they made to go over our last biology quiz. Seems as if a lot are puzzled by the grading on them, I know mine is lower than I expected, but I haven’t looked yet to see why.”
Her Uncle shook his head. “So you are going to hole up in your room, on your phone in a chat room, and then have to scramble to get your paper done, once you remember it. No wonder you all fight so over the computer. You can’t stay to the schedule. What is there for experts to disagree over, check the date on them. I am sure that the text book would know the answer, if you looked. Makes me wonder just what you are studying if you find it right to question the approved texts.”
Samuel said, cause Wane to jump a bit. “You had better take some chips as well, sounds like you might be busy. I would like to see those boards sometime, if you don’t mind. Just what are your books fighting about?”
Yuma said. “I have no problem staying with the schedule, Uncle, but if you had of checked it you would have seen that I have given my time to Tulip this week as I know she is going to need it between her comities and the papers she has due.” Smiling a bit she took her cell out and texted her Father. “There, it is on your phone for you sir, that way I won’t forget to send it to you.  It is an open board and there are some blocked topics, the site is creative learning. There are chat rooms as well as message boards, some of the rooms are open and some are invite only. I have manly been on the boards or the closed chat rooms. I have looked at a few of the open ones, but it was a bit too much for me to keep track of. To many people talking, the others are enough of a hassle that way.” Wane laws upset as an open board meant it was international, yes there would be filters, but they didn’t catch everything, which is why children were not permitted a personal computer before their high school years, and most parents waited longer. Computers and the internet was not something that children should use without supervision, yet she had just admitted to going to sites her Father didn’t know.  “It is a paper for my Zoology class, we are studying dragons and this is dealing with the way they trace the migration routes and the role that magic plays in it. The argument is over how many of them can since the energy, one says it is only males the other says all of them can and they disagree over which types of dragons see the energy as well.”
If her Uncle hadn’t been mad he was now. “You are doing a paper on those and are going into an Open board for information! Just what kind teachers are letting you do that! To even study it. You should not be looking at that filth. Magic is nothing that should ever be studied, it should be eradicated. It is nothing to be looked into. Just what are you trying to pull, saying you were assigned such a thing. No wonder you are hiding in your room. It isn’t fit. Just what are you doing in that class?”
Yuma said. “The paper is on dragons, not magic. No one is studying magic, just the animals that share our world. It just so happens that some of them use the energy and so to understand their behaviors it is necessary to look at how they use it. As I said it is for Zoology, not what I prefer to study but I needed a natural science class and it was the best fit I am not trying to hide anything. My topic is to explain the differences between black and red dragons, other than the color. Blacks are among the ones classed as magic hunters, so that is where it comes in. It is just a small part of the paper, but is turning out more complicated than I thought, and as a result is becoming larger.”
Wane shook his head. “That doesn’t explain what you are doing in that class. It hard seems a fitting one. And to study things of magic. It is bad enough we have to put up with them. They do enough damage as it is. Evil should be avoided not study and there is no question that magic is evil, as are those that use it. Yet you would argue that it merits study. That also does nothing about your lying to us. You said you were going to work on your papers not that trash.”
Yuma fought not to roll her eyes, and did her best to keep her voice even. “I told you it is to meet a requirement. There is nothing sinister about it. Yes study of magic is to be avoided. I am not saying it should be studied. However there is nothing evil in studying the animals that share are world.  A number of the Elders have expressed the opinion that the ones that use the energy were so created as to control that energy so it would do less harm. Therefore we must take steps to see that we are not impeding on there ability to do so. That was the start of the Land acts, if you would recall. I was just saying that further study is needed so we can understand how they use it, thereby know for sure that we are doing right by them. As the Word commands of us, we were created to care for the land and in return it will see to our needs.” He just shook his head. “As to the other. I was working on my paper as I said. I do not care to be told I was lying. I was working on my paper until my cell rang. Just because I was not in the living room where you seem to think I should be doesn’t mean I was lying. Now I am going to go join a chat room, and for a bit, but I will get my government paper finished and printed within two hours. I will not be leaving it for the last second, I never do. Just because I have more than one doesn’t mean that I am neglecting my studies.”
Samuel looked at his brother and shook his head a bit. He hadn’t realized just how big of a problem he had with Yuma, now he was wondering why that was. If that was a part of why Yuma was so quite, kept her views to herself so much. He needed to work more on getting her to open up to them. “Yuma, look up the Makilen project , it should help some. There is nothing wrong with her paper, in fact studies have been commissioned to look into the very problems she is finding. As she said she gave up her time on the family computer so she had no reason to be using it. They might try to linger a bit, but they never fully take each other’s time. It is easier for Yuma to study in her room so of course that is where she was. I did realize it was an issue.”
Wane looked at him and said. “Just how is she typing her paper in her room? However if you don’t have a problem with it then so be it, I do not care to be told stories. I can see her giving up her time and going to the library, that would be like her. Yet she was supposedly in her room.”

Yuma decide it was indeed time to leave, before she started yelling or laughing, nether would be good, and she wasn’t sure just which she wanted to do worse. It was madding that he thought her so untrustworthy, but funny as well. She heard her father say. “How she is typing her papers should be obvious, but it is nothing you need to worry about. She is fine, and is not breaking any of the rules she has been asked to keep. If she was I would address it with her, you needn’t worry so much about watching her.”
