That got a lot of coughs and no few heads turned. Henry went a bit red, telling me he had indeed seen it carried well. I shook my head wonder just who would jump on that slip, for all he had caught it. Daren shrugged. “Maybe not physically, but well it was just as safe, as comfortable as being with you. It is the best I have felt with someone not of the unit.”

Dev said. “Wait so he really would know? He has woken up with? And you all. No fair.”

I laughed. “Once, years ago in collage after Mairties I did indeed wake up in bed with both of them. However it was Mairties, so you know full well we were too far gone to know. That is all. I didn’t see why it mattered, it was Mairties after all. All that happens then is excused.”

One of the others at the table next to ours said. “She has you there, nothing done on Mairties night counts.” That caused a ripple of laughter and folks started turning back to their table picking up their conversations, but I can bet there will be more said and I can expect questions over it. “Besides that they are a bonded unit and she is there commander, it should just be expected. I am shocked it was only once. That is a part of being in command of a bonded unit. They need to know those over them are cared for. You would know that if you hadn’t slept through all your classes on the service branches.”

Dev said. “I know that bonded units take care of their commanders, sometimes a bit to instantly. Just because I didn’t see the point of them as it wasn’t for me doesn’t mean I didn’t learn anything. However they are just temporally under Anna’s Command, therefore that is not a factor. Regardless it still is not something any would expect to hear.”

Daren said. “I wasn’t quite awake and I am not so sure I did say it. I know you heard it, but that doesn’t mean I said it. See I am not used to being with those not of the unit and even before I tended to lower my personal shields and just have one against those outside the room. Now though I am used to be in the unit and am lower in the bond so I need to feel the others, therefore I have even less of a shield. I did remember to keep a bit more, but still as close as we were it is likely that you were hearing what I wasn’t saying as well as what I was, if I was talking at all. Speaking is not Something I normally do in bed, it not being needed for me.”

I shook my head a bit, knowing what was coming. Dev said. “Odd I would think I could tell the difference. I do think we will have to investigate this further.” Daren flushed a bit, but nodded. “Fred what do you think?”

Fred smiled and kissed him. “You know I already said this morning that one night would not do. After all there is some intriguing possibilities.”

Rick smiled. “And I said I was fine with it, even if I am otherwise engaged Daren won’t mind. However know that regardless the more you stay the more likely another would join.”

Fred said. “That is just expected, you are a bonded unit, that is just to be expected. I am sure that if ours comes they will find it to temping not to. There is value in exploring.” He smiled a bit at the coughs from the table near us and looked at me.

I looked at them startled. I had expected the playing to go on, but just that. Not that they would look to exchange Oaths. “Are you sure that this is wise? Think of the complications. Which of you is going to move and ambassador or complete move? Yes I know the Ninjas need to find a permanent jump team, but make sure you are thinking past the moment.”

Dev said. “How do you know we jump? Wait. Yes I did tip that by having them ride when Mike was.”

Fred smiled. “It is a part of why we are here, Highness, to see if we can find one we fit. We would move, it is a way to know what is going on here. Of course we would have talk first and see if it was abatable to all that needs to know.”

I shook my head a bit. “I should have known. You will have to make a formal requests should it come to that, but there won’t be a problem, your unit would not be the only foreign team serving in Alanta or Glacier, whichever it ends up being.”

The one from the other table said. “That’s good, as the ties are already starting. It is a good match if I can see them after just a night. Most take two at least. Just why is it not sealed? You are their Commander any other bonded unit recognizes it.”

I said. “I am not the only one they can work with this well, but yes we do fit each other. I just am not yet forming a permanent command. I need to be careful in doing so for no matter what the makeup of it will be seen as political.” The others shook their heads. “It will. No one cares now that Daved is bonded with an Alatian unit, but if that unit becomes a Glaicer Royal Unit? Then yes they are going to care.  Just as they are going to care that a Unit flying the Alantian flag is a Glacier Crown team. Likewise should two be in a quite fight, as you know Lords do, taking a team from one but not the other will be read as taking sides. Yes I know you were just saying them, but I can’t stop with them. If I take one I must be ready to from a wing. That is what the titles I have cost. That said there is a good deal pushing that I make it permanent. After all this is the six time this year that Roland has assigned them to me. In fact he took them back the last time only because I left to fast. Likely why he gave them such clear instructions to stay with me this time.”

Fred smiled a bit and looked at Dev. “So Love, does the idea of answering to Anna change anything? You know what it means this time unlike when you fell in with me.”

Dev smiled a bit. “I knew when we stared that Air trumps ground, always. I may have moments of wondering what I did, for I do know how that will be enforced and it is not something I would have thought I would choose. It will be odd at times to know that you left me to go to her, but no, it is not enough for me to not want this with my heart. However as I said before this is a choice that we must all make. I will not let my will be the deciding factor, for all I have come to be.”

Fred smiled. “And you know their, our, answer. If it fits for you it will fit for us. Still it will wait until they are here and it can be seen how all fit.”

I rubbed my head.  Just how did I get here? To have my brother asking this of me? I hope he knows that it is not only Rick he would answer to, and that my hand is no lighter. The bond will see to it, this way. Why? “Were you not just complaining because you thought Daren and I were together, yet you are basically trying to push your soul-bond in to my bed? You need to look at that closer, also I do think that is a conversation that I do not need to be here for. You all need to work this out, yes you need to consider the possibility that I could be involved but the fact is that I am not.” This so is not what I even considered, even on seeing the tie to Dev was still there. I knew we would fight together, that he would swear to me, but not like this. Not in a way that will see he shares the love of his life with me. I do not want that. Once was enough, for all it was just a crush on his part. “Besides I need to go make some other noise before to many leave. This is looking to be an interesting meeting, befitting for a hundred year anniversary.” I stood up smiling. “Best tell your friends they will need formal wear, and get your own if you don’t have it. It is not just going to be the top that needs it soon, I fear.” That got some groans and as I walked I heard whispers behind me.

I reached Steven and the lords him, making sure I was smiling. This was going to be interesting. I can better Jeffry is going to be upset. “Your request was gladly accepted and as we speak there are four air units and two ground units on the way, with the possibly a few more coming later. They were still talking, but those six jumped on it as soon as they almost had permission.”

Steven laughed. “That sounds good. This is shaping up nicely, it is past time we had the full games. Instead of the scaled down version it has been for the past forty years. All the events will be held this year.”

I took a breath. “Emporium loves the idea of making it a show and my honor guard will also be added to. Also he is very strongly thinking he will come. His councilors are trying to convince him he shouldn’t, but I expect they will not have much luck. Like I said he loves the idea of a show for those watching eyes and knows that they will be sure to watch if he is here. I am trying to explain that it might be some as an attempted to expand the Empire, but I do not expect to do any good.” I shook my head, making the bells chime and my father wince. “Therefore Governor I fear we will need the full set of rooms, if that could be done. I hate to have to make more work, but fear I must.”

Steven just looked at me in shock, to startled to answer. Henry said. “It will not be a problem, but it is not something any would expect him to undertake. It can’t be easy on him to travel so far.”

Roland chuckled, but managed not to completely laugh. I shook my head a bit. “Think, they have never met him, just know he was a commander in the last war. They have reason to think it is too much for him.” I turned to them. “His Dragon is kin to Garth’s and he shares the same life span. Would you dare say that Garth is too old to make the journey?”
