 They were just looking at her for a bit, no one knowing what say. Fred said. “One can always hope that growth happens. I didn’t expect you to give up flying and in light of the ships can understand the need to in service as you are a skilled pilot, but to go the way you are. To be in the Knights, to enslave a crew to you. Then it is not just then normal fourteen, as if that wasn’t enough, you have to double it! It is. The work the Knights do is worthy but there should be other ways to do it. Way that do not involve having bond to you. Then to go there! You know what I said. They did not need to know. How can it not add to fear?”
Jade said. “There are two branches in the Knights remember. Not all are bonded. I would have always had a bonded. It is needed, I can mange but it is hard not to have that tie. Those days did force somethings. My kidnapping and rescue is well now and still talked of. Those stories will start up again as it gets out that I have made Captain rank, and louder anytime there is some action I am in. Best they hear it from me. As to hearing Kidnappings happen more often on Earth, best they know it is less seen here. That might help in truth.”
Oliver said. “That is something that all need to know as there is a chance we will start to see more, and our law enforcement is not used to it. We will need the help of those from Earth. Not to say that you all are, but well there could well be some that might. All people have those that do not honor the rules and our planets had different paths among them. But we are all done we should leave the table, so the young ones need not think they have to stay . I can bet they have things they would like to be doing. They likely haven’t explored much, wanting to get their rooms set up. There is about three hours tell it is dark, so time to play outside yet. Not that it isn’t safe at night, just first nights in a new place are spooky so best spent inside, I find. Truly no one will be upset if you leave, but for those that want to talk more there is more comfortable chairs in the living room, so shall we?”
June nodded and stood up. “Most of the young ones took off as they finished, but yes moving sounds good and I am sure that some are just here thinking it would look rude if they left. As to the rest it is indeed a help to know that you had fewer kidnappings and of course there will be some that came that will have the wrong values so yes our being here could well change that. For all we would hope not. Still it needs to be known by both side before anything happens. Not that it will lesson the shock, but still there will be something there to explain the different reactions. Now then just which way do we need to go? I tried to find the front door, wanting to see one of the flowers closer, found the library and forgot where I was going. Which is fine, but means I am not sure where anything is just yet. I think it is to the right, as the library was left.”
Oliver nodded he stood as well. “Yes that is right. You are getting it, but don’t worry about getting turned around. Now a hint, the halls leading outside are the yellow ones, but telling front from back is going to be harder for a bit. Graint you did fine, no reason to think of saying it. None of us did when going over what to be sure they knew. Just like saying there are books in all sorts of languages in the library. So yes there will be some you can read and some that will help you get a start on our language. Now then come on if you want to. Joe will you see to some coffee and tea?” He started walking.
Once they were settled June said. “This better and Jade, truly it is fine if you have other things you need to do. Have you even taken time to see your own room yet? Yes no doubt they have more questions for you about what you said, but no reason it has all be dealt with now.”
Jade smiled a bit. “Yes I have seen my room and am fine joining you. I do need to check on some things and write a few more people, but I can do that just as easily from here. I just need to get my laptop.” Henry looked at her, hoping to be sent to the room after it. He wanted a hint of what she thought of his hopes. “No boy, just kneel.” Her laptop appeared on the table in front of her. “Yes I know Fred, but this is not your house. There is going to visible spells cast openly, not just the unseen ones. I need to do things like that for all the boy would have been happy to go get it. It is best he wait here.” Henry shivered a bit and kissed her knee, she put her hand on his shoulder.
 Henry bowed, went to her left side and knelt next to her. It was good to be touching her, but he would have liked to be on the other side, but she had not given him permission to be next to Albert and he need to show he understood he had no right to be without it. His bond let him know that Al was feeling the same way, and was looking forward to tonight. When he would know what was going on and yet be alone. Enjoying the fact that Jade could forbid him from having another. It was good for them, this is what they both wanted, He turned and kissed her, smiling as she touched him, loving the contact, even as it made his need flare. It would be good when the tie was there and he could feel her as well, but contact helped a lot. He just hoped she knew he did want this.
Violet shook her head. “It is not as startling as it was as we have had more coming to Earth. It is now a bit hard to believe it was thought to just be a thing in books. It is shocking how fast things change.”
June nodded. “It is good for us, just as the changes in the past were. June I am sorry that it was found fit to hide that you had been taken. Even if your were to young to know what was going on, it still has effects. That explains why you have such a problem with small windowless rooms, or closing closets. We should have known. Then that would have been stopped a lot sooner.”
Jade said “The storage room was my fault, I thought it would be fine as you were with me. For all I should have known better. The coat room was something they did not thinking, they always closed the door after they entered. Just failed to understand that I need them to open it.  Not like they ever shut me in it, as they did others. As to the closet, yes I can’t have one shut in my room. In fact here there are no doors on mine here. Normally I can close them in other parts of the house, but not if there is a person in there.” Best not to try and explain why they weren’t told. He thinks to much was said about it all ready. Not seeing yet that it will all be easy for them to find out the whole story.
Fred said. “She was five and we saw no reason to say anything as she has had to live with everyone she meets knowing about it. It was time she would be someplace no one did. As to tell you at the time. Well you were all worried enough about the children without that. There was no way that she could have come to Earth back then. The air there is different enough to be a danger to those that will be mages but are not yet. That is why thee are none born on Earth, but that from Earth can have a child with the talent. I didn’t realize that wasn’t known.”
June shook her head. “Asking to meet them never meant bring them to us. I was asking to come here after all, others were asking about taking the children to a different planet. Some might have but that would be because you so seldom said anything that they didn’t they were mages. The worry was that you didn’t talk about them. It is upset that both of you hid so much. We should not be strangers, yet we are. We should have known before that they were in military schools. Was it all of them? Do they all know how to fly a ship? Just why was it to be hidden?”
Graint said. “We all get lessons on piloting, but most of us don’t get our licenses. Some do get licenses for other positions on the ship, like me I am a civilian licensed navigator. I am not for the service, I just don’t fit. Most chose not to attend a military school, even if planing on entering the service latter. Al and Jade are the only of my siblings that have done so, but there are six cousins as well. One of them is a black Knight, one is a blue the others are looking at other branches. A few others have said they plan on enlisting after high school. There are what eighty or there abouts in service, more that were but the term ended. Some are likely looking into reenlisting now. It is not right you know so little of us, it is not right that we didn’t know you wanted to know us. We heard nothing of any of you. I did not even know how many aunts and uncles I had before Jade met you and wrote us. It doesn’t help but at least you know that the no talking was not just limited to you. I am glad that we get this chance. I will try again to convince Millisa that you do want to meet her. She didn’t think you did as Fred never even asked her to go when trying to get the three of us to. Not that she could have left her studies, but it was like he didn’t even think of her. She is in the last year of surgical residency, and then plans on doing a tour as a ships medic.”
June said. “Thank you that helps a lot. Yes I want to meet her and Sam would love to know about the medical programs here. He was set to enter one on Earth but knows he isn’t ready here so asked for a premed enrollment when filling out the papers. There is going to be a bit of learning to be done for all of us. Some are going to want to go the schools not do the home study with their classes from Earth.”
Oliver nodded. “There will be those from here that will be going as well and the schools use Myrryin, which we understand is taught on Earth, so they should be able to mange.”
June nodded. “Ours can read and write it. If only because I have insisted it be used for the last twenty five years. Everyone over eight  at least should be able to understand it if not speak or read it yet. We have been putting work into it, wanting to be less cut off.”
May said. “Before the young ones ask I would like to know just why Fred said that the crew of the ship would be enslaved, as well as why there is a double amount. It was alarming enough to hear a few talking about a whip and handcuffs now this. And why were those items in your room anyway?”
Fred frowned, Jade said. “Henry put them there when seeing my rooms were ready. I did warn everyone before I opened the door that another person had a key and likely left some things out, wanting me to know what he wanted. They didn’t see more than the first room so that was just enough to make them wonder about the rest. And yes he will feel both of those, if not all he hinted at.” He moaned a bit smiling and kissed her.
May said. “You want it?”
Henry looked at Jade, she nodded. “Yes Ma’am it has been to long since Mistress put me on a post. I love Sir, and love his putting me there but it is not the same. I have been missing her hand on the whip as well as her touch.”
Jade said. “The oath isn’t formal yet, you could have waited in the title, boy. Yet I can see both of you were pleased by that, so fine. Yes Albert, I meant you may use Captain as well. And that is the first thing you wanted. He was talking about the oaths. The fact that my crew will be bonded to me. For most it will just be light, but it is more than just words. The exchange creates a mental tie between those involved that lets them reach the other person and know some things. What those are depends on the from of bond. In a light one it is just what the person is doing, but in a deep one well. It is imposable for Henry to have a secret unless Albert choses to allow it. Once the oath is given both of us will have that ability. However those are just for servants. I will not have that much with the crew, but it will be a deeper tie than a lot of the Captains have. I will always knew where they are and what they are doing, even in their off hours. That is the least it can be, but I expect most will give me more and let me see their feelings and surface thoughts when I want to. I need to have some of those connections to be truly healthy, for all I am clearly manging without them it is not easy. And the oath that Al has given goes just a bit further and gives me rights over his actions. Meaning where and with who he spends time is up to me.” She waited until May flushed. “Yes, and that is why Fred said enslavement, and if it wasn’t his choice I would agree. However, it was and is so I don’t as my understanding of slavery means the person was forced into it. Henry go upstairs, you will be able to tell where to wait. You are getting to worked up to be down here. You have done well at control yourself, but this is getting you thinking to much.” She looked at Albert.
He smiled a bit. “I took steps to see that my reactions would be controlled. I knew it would be hard on him, but it was best.”
Jade nodded. “I understand the choice I just was a bit worried how it was getting to you, knowing you were feeling his need.  Even as you wanted this it has to be upset to be getting it.”
